It fosters patience, gratitude, mercy, and empathy toward others, as one observes the harmony and justice in the universe, realizing that justice and mercy are among Allah’s absolute attributes, and that emulating them is obligatory. Allah says: “And it is He who made the night a covering for you and the day for livelihood. Indeed, in that are signs for a people who listen.” [Yunus: 67] Reflecting on the cycles of night and day teaches organization, patience, and reliance on Allah in all matters.
Contemplation deepens life’s meaning, enhances spiritual vision, and strengthens self-awareness. A heart that reflects on Allah’s creation never neglects His blessings, is not deceived by the fleeting adornments of this world, but lives peacefully, gratefully, and balanced between worldly life and the Hereafter. It is a path to light, for contemplation illuminates the mind to ultimate truths, increases understanding of life and its purpose, and keeps one away from arrogance and ignorance.
