CAIRO, June 16, 2026 – A delegation from the Global Peace Foundation in Cairo met today with H.E. Pengiran Salminan Daud, Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to Egypt, at the Embassy of Brunei Darussalam in Cairo, following prior coordination by Mr. Mohamed Moataz, Coordinator of External Relations at the Foundation’s Cairo Office.
The Foundation’s delegation included Dr. Moataz Salah El-Din, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Global Peace Foundation in Cairo, Mr. Osama Ibrahim, Member of the Board of Trustees, Mr. Ismail Eid, Member of the Board of Trustees, and Mr. Mohamed Moataz, Coordinator of External Relations. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Hamizan, Second Secretary of the Embassy of Brunei Darussalam.
During the meeting, the two sides held extensive discussions on the principles and charter of the Global Peace Foundation, authored in 2019 by Arab thinker Ali Mohammed Al-Sharafa Al-Hammadi. Dr. Moataz Salah El-Din presented a comprehensive overview of the Foundation’s vision and activities, highlighting its commitment to promoting Quranic values, including peace, human fraternity, mercy, justice, and dialogue among civilizations.
Dr. Salah El-Din also briefed the Ambassador on the Foundation’s achievements during the current year, noting its presence in 46 countries through offices and representatives. He presented the Foundation’s Charter and Principles in both Arabic and English, together with a detailed report outlining its recent international activities.
As part of the visit, the delegation presented Ambassador Pengiran Salminan Daud with a collection of publications by Ali Mohammed Al-Sharafa Al-Hammadi in Arabic, English, and French. The publications included “The Quran Testifies to the Authenticity of the Christian Faith,” “The Document of Entering Islam,” “Islam’s Message: Mercy, Justice, Freedom and Peace,” “God’s Message to Humanity,” “Divorce Threatens Social Security,” and “Zakat: Charity and Benevolent Loan.”
The Foundation also submitted a proposal outlining potential areas of cooperation with the Embassy of Brunei Darussalam, including cultural, intellectual, media, and academic collaboration, as well as mutual participation in events organized by both sides. The Foundation expressed particular interest in strengthening ties with universities and academic institutions in Brunei Darussalam.
Dr. Moataz Salah El-Din emphasized that the Cairo Office serves as a key international platform for promoting the Foundation’s values of peace, tolerance, justice, and intercultural dialogue. He also reviewed a number of conferences organized by the Foundation on issues related to peacebuilding, national cohesion, personal status legislation, and Quranic studies, which have brought together representatives of Al-Azhar, the Vatican, the Egyptian Church, parliamentarians, former ministers, academics, media figures, and civil society organizations.
For his part, Ambassador Pengiran Salminan Daud welcomed the visit and expressed his appreciation for the Foundation’s efforts. He stressed that the Foundation’s objectives are closely aligned with the values upheld by Brunei Darussalam, particularly peace, tolerance, justice, and dialogue among civilizations.
The Ambassador also reaffirmed the strong and friendly relations between Egypt and Brunei Darussalam and expressed his pleasure at serving in Egypt. He noted that promoting the values of peace and tolerance around the world is a positive endeavor that deserves recognition and support.
The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to exploring future avenues of cooperation and strengthening cultural and intellectual exchanges between the Global Peace Foundation and institutions in Brunei Darussalam.
