شهد الفريق أول / عبدالمجيد صقر القائد العام للقوات المسلحة وزير الدفاع والإنتاج الحربى المرحلة الرئيسية للتدريب المشترك ” ميدوزا – 14 ” ، بحضور الفريق / أحمد خليفة رئيس أركان حرب القوات المسلحة والفريق أول / ديميتريوس خوبيس رئيس هيئة الأركان اليونانية ، والفريق / إيمانويل ثيودورو قائد الحرس الوطنى القبرصى ، واللواء بحرى الركن / منصور بن سعود الجعيد قائد الأسطول الغربى السعودى وقادة الأفرع الرئيسية وعدد من كبار قادة القوات المسلحة المصرية والدول المشاركة بالتدريب وعدد من الملحقين العسكريين والإعلاميين ودارسى الكليات والمعاهد العسكرية ، والذى إستمرت فعالياته لعدة أيام بنطاق مسرح عمليات البحر المتوسط وقاعدة محمد نجيب العسكرية وعدد من القواعد الجوية بجمهورية مصر العربية بمشاركة عناصر القوات البحرية والجوية والقوات الخاصة المصرية واليونانية والقبرصية والسعودية والفرنسية .
حيث بدأت فعاليات المرحلة بعرض الأنشطة التى تم تنفيذها خلال مراحل التدريب المختلفة ، كما تم تنفيذ حق الزيارة والتفتيش على سفينة مشتبه بها وأعمال البحث والإنقاذ ، وكذلك القيام بأعمال الدفاع ضد التهديدات السطحية من خلال تنفيذ رماية مدفعية سطحى بالأعيرة المختلفة ، بالإضافة إلى تنفيذ عملية الهجوم على شاطئ معادى من خلال عناصر القوات الخاصة بواسطة الإبرار البحرى والإسقاط المظلى ، وتنفيذ قذف جوى ضد الأهداف المخططة على الساحل بواسطة الطائرات متعددة المهام ،
وأختتمت الأنشطة بتنفيذ الوحدات البحرية عدد من تشكيلات الإبحار ، وتنفيذ قوات المظلات قفزة الصداقة بأعلام الدول المشاركة ، وقد تم تنفيذ الأنشطة التدريبية بكفاءة عالية رغم سوء الأحوال الجوية مما يعكس مستوى الجاهزية والإحترافية للقوات المشاركة فى التدريب .
وفى ختام المرحلة نقل الفريق أول / عبدالمجيد صقر تحيات وتقدير السيد الرئيس / عبدالفتاح السيسى رئيس الجمهورية القائد الأعلى للقوات المسلحة للحضور مرحباً بهم فى بلدهم الثانى مصر ، مؤكداً أن التدريب المشترك ” ميدوزا ” يعد أحد أهم التدريبات المشتركة التى تنفذها القوات المسلحة المصرية مع نظائرها من الدول الشقيقة والصديقة ، وأن الهدف من التدريب هو تبادل الخبرات والتعرف على أحدث التكتيكات القتالية بين الدول المشاركة .
فيما أِشاد قادة الدول المشاركة بالتدريب بالأداء المتميز الذى وصلت إليه القوات أثناء تنفيذ مهامهم القتالية المختلفة وقدرتهم على تنفيذ عمل مشترك بإحترافية ودقة عالية .

General Abdel Mageed Saqr, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production, witnessed the main phase of the joint exercise “Medusa-14”, in the presence of Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces; General Dimitrios Choupis, Chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff; Lieutenant General Emmanuel Theodorou, Commander of the Cypriot National Guard; Rear Admiral Mansour bin Saud Al-Juaid, Commander of the Royal Saudi Western Fleet; commanders of the main service branches; a number of senior commanders of the Egyptian Armed Forces and participating nations; military attachés; media representatives; and cadets from military academies and institutes.
The exercise activities, conducted over several days within the operational theatre of the Mediterranean Sea, Mohamed Naguib Military Base, and several air bases across the Arab Republic of Egypt, included participating elements from the naval forces, air forces, and special forces of Egypt, Greece, Cyprus, Saudi Arabia, and France.
The phase commenced with a presentation of the activities carried out during the previous stages of the exercise. This was followed by the execution of a visit, board, search, and seizure (VBSS) operation against a suspected vessel, search-and-rescue missions, and surface-defense drills that included naval gunfire using various calibres. The exercise also included an amphibious assault on a hostile shore conducted by special operations forces through naval landing and parachute insertion, as well as air strikes by multirole aircraft against designated coastal targets. The activities concluded with naval units carrying out various sailing formations and paratroopers performing a “Friendship Jump” while raising the flags of the participating nations.
All training activities were executed with high proficiency despite adverse weather conditions, reflecting the readiness and professionalism of the participating forces.
At the conclusion of the phase, General Abdel Mageed Saqr conveyed the greetings and appreciation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, welcoming the attendees to their second home, Egypt. He emphasized that the joint “Medusa” exercise is among the most significant joint drills conducted by the Egyptian Armed Forces with their sisterly and friendly nations, aiming to exchange expertise and become acquainted with the latest combat tactics among the participating countries.
Commanders of the participating nations praised the distinguished performance demonstrated by the forces during the execution of their various combat tasks and their ability to carry out joint operations with high precision and professionalism.
